Podcast SummaryDj / Producer Joey Seminara from Toronto, Canada Presents BODY ROCK RADIO. Playing the best in Progressive, Electro & Tech House. New shows added EVERY MONTH. visit my website for more info http://www.joeyseminara.com About JoeyThe dance music community has inspired and given birth to some of the most musically diverse and influential cities on the planet; names that instantly spring to mind are London, New York, Chicago, Stockholm, and in recent years, Toronto. The mega city has birthed a plethora of talented producers, dj’s, and songwriters topping international charts, selling out venues worldwide and in the process cementing itself as a titan in an ultra competitive digital age. Enter Joey Seminara, one of Canada’s true bright lights. To standout amongst a group of immense talents is no easy feat; you can either sit back or wax poetic on those tearing it up in the marketplace, or take the old school hard work and dedication approach. Seminara represents the later. Seminara contacted longtime friend Carlo Cina who started the PBR Recordings imprint with Canuck Titan MC Flipside (‘Hi Friend’, ‘Get Blahsted’, ‘So it Goes’). Flipside has been at the forefront of the Canadian dance scene for several years and instantly connected with Seminara’s ability to create dance-floor gems that strike the balance between dance-floor and discerning DJ. Within an amazing four months Seminara (alongside Flipside and Danny Nagels) rose to Number One on Beatport’s Electro chart for their collaboration ‘Just the Tip’ (Hatiras remix). Championed by the likes of Roger Sanchez, Tiga, Tocadisco, Tommy Lee and Aero, the song became an international club hit and announced his arrival. Rather than sitting back, Seminara used this as fuel to raise the bar for himself by releasing ep’s and remixes displaying his versatility as a producer. His sound can represent tech, electro, progressive and good ol’ house music. Never one to shy away from dropping a party rocker following the latest unreleased promo, his DJ sets are a testament to his open-minded style. While on the decks, it is not strange to find both women and track hungry DJs huddled around him. Smashing sold out shows in Canada and the U.S., Seminara’s schedule is now rewarding him with tour dates in some of the hottest venues around. He currently holds a residency for one of Canada’s longest running after hour’s venues, the now legendary Film lounge. In 2009, Joey evolved his sound even further. Not pleased with where Electro was heading, Joey found himself embracing the techier side of house. Once again, his association with PBR presented him another great opportunity. Seminara befriended Danish producer and musician Simon Gain and the two instantly hit it off, thus beginning their digital collaborations. Owing to this newfound friendship, ‘The Far Away EP’ was born. Tough tech with the right amount of oomph to slap a dance-floor upside its head, ‘Triplet’ and ‘Far Away’ topped the charts peaking at Number 2 on the House charts and Number 3 overall on Beatport. It did not stop there; ‘Far Away’ was showcased on the BBC’S Radio One and caned by Dave Spoon, Fedde Le Grand, Alex Kenji, D.O.N.S., Granite and Phunk among other elite jocks that dropped the duo’s very first release. The summer of 2009 will see their second effort ‘Music Behavior EP’, dropped on PBR Recordings, which is sure to seal his rep as one of North America’s young guns and future producer/dj superstars. Based on his achievements in the past two years alone, it would not be wise to bet against it. Joey's Friends
